New Buffalo Michigan

New Buffalo Township is made up of several beach communities; The Village of Grand Beach Michigan, The Village of Michiana Michigan, Riviera Beach, Forest Beach, Sturgeon Beach, Timberlane Estates and Wolverine Beach. Many of the communities have associations with amenities ranging from beach access, swimming pools and golf courses. The homes vary in pricing  from moderately priced to homes valued in the millions and consist of beachfront condos, vacation and permanent homes. The area is covered by New Buffalo Area Schools.

New Buffalo has great water activities from riverside parks, fishing boat charters and wonderful marinas. Their City Beach has swimming, sunbathing, a picnic area with a playground, boardwalk through the sands and access to boating on Lake Michigan and the Galien River. The city beach has its own non traditional lighthouse. The lifeguard station has been painted and built to look like a lighthouse. The New Buffalo Harbor has over 950 private and public boat slips. Several of the high end condo associations have their own slips. Condos are popping up all over the area and selling fast. New Buffalo’s close proximity to both Chicago, IL and Indiana make this area very desirable. The breeze from Lake Michigan helps with the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter.

The annual New Buffalo Ship & Shore Festival has been held in New Buffalo,Michigan every August for over 30 years. The downtown area comes alive with music, games for the kids, arts and crafts. The evening brings  a lighted boat parade and fireworks.
